Today's drive was right up US 71 from Texarkana to Joplin. This is a future corridor for I-49 and Missouri has completed their work for that conversion but Arkansas needs a lot more money for some big projects to bring theirs up to Interstate standards. One of their big bottlenecks is the section through/around Bella Vista.
As we moved northward we noticed the change from green trees to brown and bare trees and as we got closer to Joplin we saw a few patches of snow still on the ground on the north slopes. It is up to 61° here right now that we are set up and the overnight low is predicted to be 39°.
